Title: A megrekedt magyar modernizáció kiútkeresése a sokrétű digitális megosztottság útvesztőjéből Abstract: A modernizációs folyamat az utóbbi 40 évben megrekedt a magyar társadalomban. Ennek egyik fő oka a foglalkoztatás szerkezeti struktúrájának változatlansága.

Title: The way out of frozen Hungarian modernisation through the maze of wide-ranging digital diversity Abstract: The process of modernisation in Hungarian society came to a standstill 40 years ago. The way in which the structure of employment has remained unchanged must be recognised as one of the main causes for this. In order to achieve any changes in this area a new, correct emphasis on the elimination of the digital divide must be found. In order to facilitate this the framework for the interpretation of the digital divide must be defined; on this basis, we can conclude that the trends in intervening in the Hungarian information society's programs that target bridging the gap are still bad. Reducing the access and usage gap should not be tackled primarily by solving problems with prices. It is perhaps far more important to increase the level of digital competence and skills among Internet users, to increase the role of digital devices in education, and to dramatically increase equal opportunity in access to digital goods and public services.
