Title: Információs társadalom
Subtitle: a metakritika hiábavalósága és gyötrelmessége
Abstract: Az információs társadalom elméletével kapcsolatos kritikai pozíciók térképének megrajzolása előtt a tanulmány részletesen elemzi azokat a gondolkodói "ősbűnöket", amelyek sok esetben magának az információs társadalom eszméjének az elutasítását is eredményezhetik. Ilyen bűnként elsősorban az információs társadalom eredetileg és - végső értelme szerint is - holisztikus elméletének "feldarabolását", illetve az "információ-dominanciára" való mesterséges leszűkítését és eltorzítását emeli ki a szerző, s ezeket számos szövegrészlettel illusztrálja. Az idézetek túlnyomórészt az ugyanebben a tematikus folyóiratszámban megjelent írásokból származnak.

Title: Reflections on the information society
Subtitle: about the vanity and anguish of meta-criticism
Abstract: Before sketching a map of critical positions taken concerning various theories of the information society, the author of this paper examines in detail the "primaeval sins" that in many instances lead to the rejection of the very idea of an information society. Exemplifying such cardinal misdeeds, he primely points out that over-segmentation of the originally holistic theory of the information society leads to the disarticulation of its ultimate meaning, while artificially narrowing the concept results in a distorted image of an information society, characterized only by the dominance of information. Numerous text fragments, chiefly from the papers published in this issue of the journal, are quoted to illustrate the point.
