Title: Konzervatizmus és információs társadalom
Abstract: A szerző álláspontja szerint a modern információs társadalom nem hozott magával teljesen új problémákat, mivel az ebben a fogalomkörben felvetett jellegzetes kérdések gyakorlatilag egyidősek a nyugati civilizációval. Ennélfogva a konzervatív gondolkodás számára is jól ismert, klasszikus kérdésekről van szó, tehát semmiképpen sem igaz, hogy a konzervatív felfogás számára az információs társadalom elvileg is új kihívást jelent. Mindezt a tanulmány a konzervatívok szemében általában kiemelten fontos négy kérdéskör, a hagyomány, a rend, a funkció és a tudás (a tudomány) jelenségcsoportjainak elemzésével támasztja alá. Az igazi konzervatív gondolkodás semmiképpen sem ellenséges vagy gyanakvó az információs technológiák fejlődésével és terjedésével szemben. Mivel lényeges társadalmi változások nem rajzolódnak ki a horizonton, a szerző következtetése szerint fennmaradnak a klasszikus kérdések és érvényesek a klasszikus válaszok is.

Title: Conservatism and the information society
Abstract: The author’s claim is that the information society has not raised wholly new problems, since questions typical of the information society discourse are practically as old as Western civilization itself. These classical questions are well-known to conservative thinking, therefore, it is by no means true that for conservatives the information society poses new theoretical challanges. The paper analyzes four sets of problems, generally of particular importance for conservatives: tradition, order, function, and knowledge (science). True conservative thinking is by no means hostile to, or suspicious of, the development and spread of information technologies. Since essential social changes do not seem to be under way, the author comes to the conclusion that the classical questions remain with us, and the classical answers to them are still valid.
