Abstract	A kritikai racionalitásnak tetemes hagyománya alakult ki a nyugati gondolkodásban. A tanulmány egyrészt e hagyomány gyökereire, másrészt pedig e hagyomány jelenleg folyó átalakulására, s annak okaira világít rá. A szerző sokban támaszkodik Hajnal István és a Hajnal munkásságának szerves folytatását jelentő Torontói Iskola írásbeliség-fogalmára, a filozófia történetében markáns formát öltő kritikai racionalitás bizonyos megnyilvánulásaira, valamint nyelvfilozófiai vizsgálódásokra és kognitív pszichológiai kutatásokra.
Abstract (translation)	Critical rationality has far-reaching roots in Western philosophy. The author of this paper intends to reveal the origin of this kind of rationality, and to shed light on the reasons of its current transformation. Doing so, she relies on the notion of literacy by István Hajnal and that of the Toronto Circle, some special manifestations of this kind of rationality in the history of philosophy, investigations in the field of the philosophy of language, and cognitive psychological research.
