| Abstract |
A beszélgetés témája, hogy vajon a magyar gazdaság „új gazdaságnak”, illetve tudásgazdaságnak tekinthető-e. Melyek a magyar gazdaság versenyképességének legfőbb tényezői és hiányosságai az információs- és tudásgazdaság korában? Szó esik az információs technológiai forradalom felzárkóztatási hatásáról, a feldolgozóipar, valamint az immateriális, tudásbázisú tevékenységek eltérő modernizációs hozzájárulásáról és természetesen a felsőoktatási rendszer problémáiról, kilátásairól.

| Abstract (translation) |
The interview highlights whether the Hungarian economy can be considered as a 'new economy' or 'knowledge economy'. What are the main underlying factors and the shortcomings of its competitiveness in the new era of information- and knowledge-economies? The effects of the IT revolution on catching-up, the different ways by which both the processing industries and virtual, knowledge-based activities can contribute to modernization, and, naturally, several problems and prospects of tertiary education are also discussed.
