Abstract	James Beniger „Az irányítás forradalma” című monográfiája az információs társadalom irodalmának klasszikusa, amely történeti elemzés révén mutatja be az információs társadalom kialakulásának kulcsmozzanatait, és amely a tudományos diskurzus számára értékes gyúanyagot adott a kontrollforradalom fogalmával. A munka különleges értékét az adja, hogy fontos gyakorlóterepe az információ társadalomtudományának. Értékelő elemzésükben a szerzők kísérletet tesznek arra, hogy bemutassák a mű fő gondolatmenetét, illetve értékeljék azt a társadalomelmélet és a történettudomány szempontjait figyelembe véve.
Abstract (translation)	James Beniger’s monograph titled ’The Control Revolution’ is a standard work on information society showing the key moments in the formation of information society and providing the scientific discourse with valuable material concerning the notion of the control revolution. The work has a special value as it provides an important ‘drill-ground’ for the social science of information. In their evaluative analysis the authors try to introduce the main contexture of the work and to evaluate it taking the aspects of social theory and the science of history into consideration.
