Abstract	A szerző egy történettel vezeti be tanulmányát. Egy tanár kollégája arra a kérdésre, hogy szerinte mi az információs társadalom, így válaszolt: „az, amikor az embereknek van otthon internetük … meg ilyenek”. Ennél pontosabb és részletesebb fogalom-meghatározásra törekedve a kérdést több szempontból is meg kell vizsgálni. Tanulmányában a szerző az információs társadalom fogalmának öt meghatározó jelentőségű aspektusát elemzi. A technológia, a tudományos gondolkodás, az erőforrások, a gazdasági modellek és a tudás aspektusain keresztül szemlélteti, hogy az információs társadalom fogalma mindenképpen túlmutat az információ-technológián és a digitális infrastruktúrán.
Abstract (translation)	The author introduces his paper by citing a colleague-teacher of his, who, replying to the question what he thinks the information society is, said: „It means that people have Internet access at home...and things like this". To give a more accurate definition of the term, the author outlines several perspectives in his paper, analysing five decisive aspects of the information society. Commenting on the aspects of technology, scientific thinking, resources, economic models and knowledge, he argues that the concept of an information society is by all means much richer than those of information technology or the digital infrastructure.
