Cím: A dualizmus idejének technikai megoldásai és lehetőségei a kommunikáció terén Absztrakt: A dualizmus gazdasági változásában a polgárosodást megvalósító magyar társada-lom tagadhatatlan veszteségeket szenvedett, hiszen nagyon sokan kényszerülteka kivándorlást választani. A kedvezőbb helyzetben lévő itthon maradtak azonbanértesülhettek a kiépülő modern társadalom nyújtotta lehetőségekről, majd része-sülhettek azokban. 1885-ben rendezték meg az Országos Általános Kiállítást a Vá-rosligetben, amellyel meg akarták mutatni, hogy mire képes a polgárosodás útjáralépett magyar társadalom gazdasági és kulturális téren egyaránt. A rendezvénymegjelenítette a modernizáció mértékét és kínálatát, amelynek feltétele a távírda, atelefon és a vasút megléte. Cím: Technical solutions and possibilities in the field of communication during the period of dualism Absztrakt: In the economic changes of dualism, Hungarian society, which had achieved bour-geoisification, suffered undeniable losses, as many were forced to choose emigra-tion. However, those who remained at home, who were in a more favorable position,were able to learn about the opportunities offered by the developing modern societyand then benefit from them. In 1885, the National General Exhibition was organizedin the City Park, with the aim of showing what Hungarian society, which had em-barked on the path of bourgeoisification, was capable of in both the economic andcultural fields. The event demonstrated the extent and range of modernization, andthe prerequisite for this was the existence of the telegraph, the telephone and therailway. This brief technical history sketch, based on contemporary press reports,aims to draw attention to the fact that inventions are emerging that are not coveredin the summaries in professional books.
