Cím: AGI-Correlationism and Its Discontents

Absztrakt: Anthropocentric and anthropomorphic biases and attitudes have been present inartificial intelligence (AI) research and practice since their beginning, being especiallynoticeable in artificial general intelligence. The aim of this paper is to proposea comprehensive framework for critical observation, as well as general theoreticalinquiry into these attitudes, unifying them under the name AGI-correlationism. Asfollows from the given name, the concept itself is derived from the contemporaryphilosophies of speculative realism, which are critical towards the philosophicalstance unified under the term “correlationism.” Furthermore, the paper alsocontrasts two approaches to define general intelligence, namely, essentialist andfunctionalist, arguing that only the latter is viable and efficient in the theoreticaldefinition of general intelligence.
