A probléma megoldását sok szakértő a kérdés újszerű, innovatív megközelítésében látja. Ilyen újszerű megközelítést alkalmazunk jelen cikkünkben is.

Title: Differences between the level of ICT development of EU member states Subtitle: results of a cluster analysis Abstract: In foreign literature there are more and more studies that prove the causal relationship between investments in information technologies and productivity, as well as the efficiency of organizations, respectively, and the optimization of using material and human factors in ICT for their more effective use. Based on the results of the previous studies that proved the link between proactive management, innovation, productivity and use of ICT resources, the goal of this study is to extend research in this field by using some complex statistical methods (principal components analysis, non-hierarchical cluster analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis) in order to analysis how they group together – according to the ICT indicators and performance macroeconomic indicators of the 27 EU member states. The results resulted in the formation of three clusters as follows: former communist countries, EU-15 member countries, and atypical countries.
