Title: „Lejönni az injekcióstűről”
Subtitle: A keleti és nyugati televíziózással kapcsolatos eltérő társadalmi és kulturális várakozások Magyarországon és az államszocialist
Abstract: 1948 után a szovjet blokk országainak politikai nyilvánossága és az azzal kapcsolatos gondolkodás évekre elszakadt a nyugati média- és kommunikációelmélettől, míg a gyakorlat az ún. „burzsoá újságírás” tagadására épült. A tanulmány azt vizsgálja, hogy a televízió megjelenése és elterjedése – ami Keleten egybeesett a desztalinizáció és a kulturális érintkezések újrafelvételének időszakával – mennyiben váltott ki másfajta reakciókat a politikai és kulturális elit részéről az államszocialista országokban. A tanulmány rámutat, hogy az államszocialista társadalmi berendezkedés eltérő jellegére alapozva többnyire eltérő várakozásokat tápláltak az új médium propagandalehetőségeit, társadalmi hatásait, valamint kulturális lehetőségeit illetően. Ugyanakkor a gyakorlat esetenként mégis hasonló jelenségeket eredményezett.

Title: Social and cultural expectations regarding the Western and Eastern television broadcasting in Hungary and the Socialist Bloc...
Abstract: After 1948 the political publicity and the related theoretical reflections in the states of the Soviet bloc were split from Western media and communication theories, while the existing practice was based on the denial of ‘bourgeois journalism’. The study focuses on the question whether the appearance and proliferation of television – that coincided with the period of de-Stalinization and the re-establishment of Western cultural contacts in the East – provoked different reactions from the cultural and political elites of the state socialist countries. The study points out that based on differing character of the socialist political system the expectations concerning the propaganda horizons, social effects and cultural opportunities of the new medium in general were also different. Nevertheless, the practice also brought similar symptoms.
