Title: A hálószoba, a stúdió és a közösségi média találkozása Subtitle: A budapesti hálószobapop-színtér Abstract: Az írás a 2011-ben feltűnő budapesti lo-fi, más néven hálószobapop-színtér példáján keresztül vizsgálja az otthoni hangrögzítési technológiákkal előállított zenei produktumok terjesztésére, közösségi gyakorlataira alkalmas online felületek kulturális konstrukcióját, különös tekintettel a gender szempontjára.

Title: Where the bedroom as studio meets online social media Subtitle: The Budapest lo-fi scene Abstract: The paper looks at the example of the so-called Budapest lo-fi music scene. It examines the cultural construction, particularly in terms of gender, of online platforms functioning as spaces for the distribution of music products created with the help of affordable home recording technology, and for the collective practices of music making. The online platforms become linked with the space of the bedroom, which, as a private environment housing accessible and controllable technology, in theory guarantees a protected creative sphere. My main questions regard, firstly, the extent to, and manner in which the scene can be considered democratic in gender terms within the context of the pop-rock world. Secondly, the role played in this by flexible models and accessible opportunities provided by home recording technology, and technology for online music sharing and social networking, such as Bandcamp and Tumblr. And thirdly, the particular relationship to technology as reflected in the attitudes, tastes of musicians.
