Title: Információs társadalom korhatárok nélkül
Abstract: Az információs társadalom fejlesztésére irányuló magyar társadalompolitika egyelőre kirekesztően kezeli az idősebb korosztályt. Egyáltalán nem szentel megfelelő figyelmet annak, hogy az öregedő társadalom problémavilágát és a befogadó információs társadalom lehetőségeit és aktív eszközeit össze lehet és kell kapcsolni a gazdasági-társadalmi versenyképesség, a foglalkoztatás, az iskolázottság, a képességfejlesztés, valamint az ezek révén elérhető piaci lehetőségek, produktivitás és növekvő belső fogyasztás szempontjaival. Nincsenek társadalmi üzenetek arra vonatkozóan, hogy az információs társadalom „mit kezdjen” az idősekkel, illetve mit kezdjenek az idősek az információs társadalommal. Mindezek következtében néhány év múlva egy töredezett, a generációkat elválasztó szakadékok mentén sokkal erősebben szegmentált, inkonzisztens magyar társadalomképpel állunk majd szemben.

Title: Information society without age barriers
Abstract: Based on recent research findings, the author of the paper argues that recent Hungarian public policy aimed at the formation of an information society deals in a discriminative way with the older age group. It does not pay appropriate attention to the necessity and the possibilities of interlinking the problems of an ageing society and the capabilities of an all-inclusive information society with several aspects of socio-ecomic competitiveness, productivity, employment, education, skills training, and new market opportunities and growing domestic consumption potentially made available by these means. There are no socially established messages regarding what politics of old age should be followed in the information society, and how the elderly should adapt to the new paradigm. Consequently, in a few years’ time, we shall face a fragmented and inconsistent social landscape, bound to become strongly segmented along generation gaps.
