Title: Egy túlterhelt fogalom
Abstract: A tanulmány az információs társadalom mibenlétét sajátos módon határozza meg: eredettörténetének és intézményesülésének vázolásával bemutatja azt az utat, amely a társadalmi formáció aszimmetrikussá és túlterheltté válásához vezetett. A szerző szemantikai-pragmatikus közelítésmódot használ. Végkövetkeztetésként megállapítja: a) tudományos szempontból veszélyes a fogalmat uniformizálni vagy politikai ideológiává emelni, mert ezáltal b) elveszíti jelentésbeli és értelmezési lehetőségeinek sokszínűségét.

Title: An overloaded concept
Abstract: This paper gives a particular definition of the ..information society" by outlining its origins and the process of institutionalisation resulting in its creation, and presenting the way that led to this notion of a social formation becoming asymmetrical and overloaded. The author applies a semantic-pragmatic approach. In the final analysis, he argues that a) by scientific standards, to make the concept uniform or to turn it into political ideology are both dangerous because by this b) it will lose its multiplicity of meaning and diversity of interpretation.
