Absztrakt: A két ismert adatvédelmi szakember által szerkesztett tanulmánykötet egyfelől a privacy témájával, vagyis az egyén információs önrendelkezésének aktuális kérdéseivel foglalkozik, másfelől pedig azzal, hogy milyen információs garanciái vannak (vagy kellene, hogy legyenek) a közszféra átláthatóságának, ami ”a modern demokratikus jogállamok egyik alapkövetelménye.” A kötetben egyaránt helyet kaptak elméleti és „empirikus indíttatású” írások, amelyek hazai és külföldi példákon keresztül járják körül a jogi szabályozással, a menedzsmenttel és a technikai kérdésekkel kapcsolatos problémákat. A szerzők között hazai és nemzetközi viszonylatban is neves szakértők mellett gyakorló informatikusok és PhD hallgatók is találhatók.

Absztrakt: This collection of papers edited by two prominent Hungarian data protection experts deals, on the one hand, with the theme of privacy, that is to say, with topical issues of the rights of informational self-determination of individuals. On the other hand, informational guarantees that exist (or should exist) for the transparency of the public sphere, which is „a basic requirement of democratic constitutional states" are also dealt with. The volume includes both theoretical studies and empirical accounts which, with the help of several examples taken from Hungary and from abroad, elaborate relevant issues connected with actual problems of legal regulation, management, and technology. Among the authors of the papers, in addition to internationally acknowl¬edged Hungarian experts, practising information technology specialists and PhD students can be found as well.
