Absztrakt: Tanulmányukban a szerzők a globalizációról folyó globális diskurzus tévútjaira mutatnak rá. Hangsúlyozzák, hogy a globalizáció nem egyirányú befogadást jelent, hanem nyitott folyamat. A szent, a jó és a fontos fogalmai nem válnak mindenütt azonossá. Sőt, ellenkező irányú hatások is tapasztalhatók, és ezek erősödhetnek, gyarapodhatnak is, különösen a tudástársadalmakban, ahol az információ bővített újratermelése folyik. Gondolatmenetük végén a szerzők a globalizáció pozitív vonásairól és lehetőségeiről ejtenek szót, sorra véve a globalizáció gazdasági (ezen belül politikai és technológiai), kulturális (elsősorban tudományos) és ökológiai dimenzióit.

Absztrakt: The authors discuss certain deviations in the global discourse on globalization. They emphasize that globalization is not a one-way street but an open-ended process. The concepts of the sacred, the good and the relevant will never be uniform all over the world. Certain trends can even be experienced in the opposite direction, which may further grow and improve, especially in knowledge societies where the reproduction of information on an increasing scale is going on. In conclusion, the authors comment on some positive features of globalization, touching upon the economic (including political and technical), cultural (especially science-related), and ecological dimensions of globalization.
