Title: Az „új gazdaság” az Egyesült Államokban
Subtitle: Egy makroszintű megközelítés
Abstract: A cikk az „új gazdaság” fogalmát az Egyesült Államok gazdaságának (különös tekintettel az IT-iparágakra) és technológiai fejlődésének tükrében járja körül. Áttekinti az „új gazdaság” nemzetközi szakirodalmát, az eltérő és egymást kiegészítő értelmezéseket. A szerző amellett az értelmezés mellett teszi voksát, amely szerint azért beszélhetünk „új gazdaságról”, mert páratlanul átfogó módon terjedt el az új technológia, amely immár a gazdaság teljes keresztmetszetét áthatja. Ebből az értelmezésből kiindulva, input–output táblák segítségével mutatja be az információs technológia elterjedését a gazdaságban. Elemzéséből kiderül, hogy a változások az újratermelési folyamat szinte minden vonatkozásában éreztették hatásukat.

Subtitle: A macro approach
Abstract: The article presents the notion of the 'new economy' as it is reflected in the American economic and technological progress, particularly in the IT sector. It gives a review of the literature on the 'new economy', showing the diversity of interpretations contradicting or supplementing each other. The author agrees with the interpretation according to which we can speak of a 'new economy' because the new technologies, having completely pervaded all the economy, keep spreading in an extremely extensive way. Following this interpretation, the author demonstrates the pervasive nature of information technologies, using input-output tables. His analysis reveals that the changes have already had an impact on the processes of production in practically all respects.
